NOCK: VR Archery

NOCK is a small VR archery game, and it's the first thing I've actually finished and put online.

I've started plenty of projects and shipped none of them, so this is me breaking that streak. I went with archery because the draw fits VR really well. You reach back over your shoulder for an arrow, nock it, and pull the string. The harder you pull, the more the controller vibrates and the more the string glows, going from white to glowing at full tension. Then you let go.

What you do:

• Shoot targets across a grassy range, each one worth points.
• Thread an arrow clean through the hole in the rock for a bigger score.
• Bank enough points and the shack opens up: a faster bow, then one that fires three arrows at once.
• Teleport between the range and the shack whenever you want.

That's the whole game for now. It uses teleport movement so it stays comfortable, and a full round takes a few minutes. It's short and rough in places. Some of it is held together with duct tape and hope. But it runs, it feels good to send a few arrows downrange, and I'd rather have it out here than sitting on my drive.

This is a learning project more than anything. If you play it and something breaks or a shot feels off, tell me. I'm going to keep patching it.

Runs on PC VR (SteamVR and Quest Link). Pick up the bow and see how it feels.
